Law of effective communication – Rule of Three

You go through any presentation by a major consulting firm, and you will find – there will be 3 big ideas presented OR most arguments would be justified by 3 reasons

You listen to a consultant for 10min, he will say – there are 3 things, I see 3 reasons etc. at least 3 times 🙂

And although Rule of 3 is something that consultants use extensively, explicitly and purposely ( again 3 points:)), it is something that is all around us.

When we need to grade something, we use Low, Medium, High, we use 3 colour traffic lights, when we are planning something we create 3 scenarios – best case, worst case and realistic case. If we go back in history – Newton came up with 3 laws, popular novels were titled like The Three Musketeers, Three Wise Men. Popular slogans were drafted using 3 elements – Liberty equality Fraternity. And I can go on and on.
